Our home, Lotus Studio, is located at 444 and 446 Olive Street in Shreveport, LA. (between Highland and Gilbert streets). Here, you will also find Yoga and Karate classes offered by the studio’s associate teachers.

Kathy, a.k.a. Kahina, teaches beginner classes on Tuesdays at the studio. Her six week lesson package is $60 ($12 drop in). Classes are 1hr and 15 min. Basic moves, conditioning and combinations are drilled and a full dance choreography is taught during the session. Check our calendar for more information. Barbara, a.k.a. Habibi, teaches beginner classes on Tuesday evenings at Lotus. Her class follows the same format as Kahina’s, but begins at a later time slot for those who cannot make the earlier class. Her sessions also start on different dates. $60 for six weeks ($12 drop in). Habibi also teaches Poi (the art of spinning objects) on Sundays. Check our calendar for details.

Karla, a.k.a. Chala, heads up our student troupe, The Port Belly Futures, on Monday evenings. Students must have a solid foundation in core steps, combinations and an understanding of dance vocabulary. Several beginner sessions with Kahina or Habibi are a must. PBP dances are taught to this group at a faster pace, focusing on posture, isolations, and details. The goal for this group is to offer performance opportunities – eventual investment in costuming and extra practice time for events are required.
